It's Been Real

In the same way that all good things must end, this Public Relations Publications course must end, too. There are a number of skills and tools that I've genuinely gained from this course, and the most significant moments will be highlighted in my final summary of learning project. I previously decided to create an infographic using my three favorite Adobe Suite softwares (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator), which I'll post in my portfolio in the week to come. This infographic will represent everything I've acquired from this course into one final project.

To sum up this course, Public Relations Publications is about creating various visual tactics to represent any given information and disperse information in a timely, coherent manner. Along the way, I learned that design matters more than I may have originally thought and just how important it is to keep in mind who I'm designing for. While reflecting on some of my older blog posts, I recognized that every project kept a specific audience in mind, and I was most successful when that audience was at the forefront of my design process.

Furthermore, I appreciated the overall arrangement of this course. Journaling every week grew a bit tiresome, but I can see the added benefit of being able to look back at what was going through my head and why I made certain decisions. Additionally, the projects were well spaced. I wasn't overwhelmed, for the most part, with the larger assignments because there were only a few a month, and they weren't worth a ridiculous amount of points.

Lastly, I feel as though my growth these past few months has been monumental. I never considered myself to be a creative person, but this course has made it obvious that there's room for creative thinking/planning in PR, as well. That's an exciting thought for me. I look forward to building on these skills and viewing this class for exactly what it was, an introduction to the world of public relations and the options that are available to me.

As a final farewell, I've attached some of my favorite projects from the semester. Thank you, Professor Kast!
